Rated 5 out of 5 by Frances from The best I have found. I have been sewing for almost 60 years, serging for 20. I have noticed that the quality of thread in general has been declining for at least 5 years, including Maxilock. Older cones seem to have smoother, more consistent thread. The ones I have purchased in the past year are labeled inside the cone as being "processed in the US from China yarn". The quality is inferior. BUT I have purchased 4 other brands of serger thread in the past 2 years and they have all been worse. I have had breakage with other brands, but NOT with MaxiLock. Why are the first 8 reviews that come up under "most relevant" on JoAnn's website very negative and many very old, up to eleven years ago? They do not reflect the average Overall Rating of over 4. They are not current. I don't think they are a fair representation. Who decides what is "relevant? I strongly believe this thread deserves at least it's rating of 4 out of 5. I gave it 5 because I think it's the best that's readily available.

Rated 3 out of 5 by NavajoGypsy from I thought the thread was breaking. It's cut! I realize after reading the reviews that what I thought was the thread breaking is that it has cuts in it. I'm new to serging and I hadn't had any issues with broken thread until this thread came along. Back to Gutermann.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Brown Sugar from Knotted and broken threads I thought this was supposed to be a superior brand, but I'm not going to buy again. Too many hidden knots and some cut and/or broken threads in the midst of the cone. No one wants to stop in the middle of a project to have to rethread your machine. Let alone stop in the middle of finishing a seam/hem.
