❤️ Why you'll love it

  • It's a very versatile and beautiful board to put together. Very forgiving. You can pretty much just throw together what you have in your refrigerator. You see the ingredients image below? I didn't even end up using the grapes and tomatoes and it still worked out beautifully.
  • No cooking required and be as formal or un-formal as you desire.
  • A charcuterie board is a great way to celebrate the holiday season at a Christmas party or family gatherings.
  • It doesn't have to stay as a tree shape. You could try different shapes - like a Christmas Charcuterie Wreath for example.
  • This is a great option for a big crowd.

🧅 Ingredients

Christmas Charcuterie Board (3)
  • Sharp white cheddar
  • Colby Jack cheese

  • Black Olives
  • Stuffed Green Olives
  • Star Shaped Peppermint Patties
  • Mini Pepperoni
  • Blueberries
  • White Chocolate Chips
  • Green and Red Peanut M&M's
  • Sprigs of Rosemary

See recipe card at the bottom of this post for quantities.

🥣 Instructions

  • Step 1: Find a good size board to use as your charcuterie platter and wipe it down.
  • Step 2: Cut your cheeses and cold cuts and wash the fruit.
  • Step 3: Create your layer of snow at the bottom using the mozzarella pearls.
  • Step 4: Add the tree trunk using pretzel sticks.
  • Step 5: Layer the Christmas Tree using the remaining ingredients.
  • Step 6: Decorate with the red and green peanut M&M's for the perfect festive touch with Christmas colors.

Hint: Offer a glass of tooth picks or co*cktail forks for use in picking up the pieces so people don't have their hands all over the board, as well as cheese knives.
As well as some small bowls of dip.

🔄 Substitutions and Variations

  • Candy Cane - hang a few around the tree.
  • Soft Cheeses - any will work just be sure to add the cheese knives.
  • Fig Jam - I had to add this because I feel it is so missed when cheese is offered without some delicious fig jam.
  • Hard Salami - really any savory items like this and your favorite meats.
  • Seasonal Produce - Go to the grocery store and see what produce is in season.
  • Hard Cheeses - any delicious cheeses will work on a festive board like this. It's almost just like a cheese platter.

It's important you have a board big enough to assemble your Charcuterie Board. Again, depending how many you want to feed though. If you are making a small board for just a few people, then that works.

You'll need some tooth picks to hold the salami roses together.

🧊 Storage

Once your party is over or your gathering have stopped eating from the Christmas Charcuterie Board start breaking it down. Most of it will need to be stored in the refrigerator.

I like to put everything into resealable bags so as to not take up too much room in the refrigerator - or you could just throw it all together in an airtight container.

💡 Tips

Expert Tip: A charcuterie actually translates to the preparing of cured meats. These days it has evolved into more a cheese board of cured meats, fresh fruit, cheeses and nuts etc. It's so versatile, you can literally put anything together for this and it will look amazing.

Christmas Charcuterie Board

A delicious platter of cheeses, cold cuts, fruit and peanut M&Ms in the shape of a Christmas Tree.

Prep Time15 minutes mins

Total Time15 minutes mins

Servings: 18

Cuisine: Snacks

Author: Melanie Cagle

Ingredients

  • 12 oz Mozzarella Pearls
  • 15 Pretzel Sticks
  • 8 oz Colby Jack Cheese cut into cubes
  • 12 oz Sharp White Cheddar Cheese cut into cubes
  • 12 oz Salami sliced
  • 12 oz Blueberries
  • 15 oz Can Pitted Black Olives
  • 12 oz Mini Pepperoni Slices
  • 1 Cup White Chocolate Chips
  • 6 York Star Shaped Peppermint Patties
  • 8 Slices Pepper Jack Cheese
  • 6 Sprigs Fresh Rosemary
  • 1 Cup Red and Green Peanut M&M's

Instructions

  • Find a board big enough to assemble a charcuterie board, or a large chopping board (about 15" x 22") and give it a good wipe down ready to house food.

  • Line up the Mozzarella pearls along the bottom to represent snow.

  • Next place the pretzel sticks pointed upward for the Christmas tree trunk.

  • If your cheese is not already done so cut up into cubes.

  • Make your first row of cheese cubes along the bottom of the tree.

  • Next the pepperoni slices.

  • Then blueberries.

  • Repeat with the other ingredients.

  • For the salami slices fold in half, then half again, then roll up to create a kind of rose bud. Hold together with tooth picks. I could hold three salami pieces on 1 tooth pick like this.

  • Top the tree with a star cut out from sliced cheese using a star shaped cookie cutter.

  • Arrange the rosemary as tufts sticking out from the tree.

  • Evenly place the M&M's all around three tree as decoration.

  • Cut some more stars from the cheese, as well as place the peppermint patties on the outside, for stars.

Notes

Use your favorite cheeses, cold cuts and decorations. Making one of these boards is so versatile.
