A while back, I wrote a complete guide about MAC Soar lip liner and lipstick combos, but I thought the time had come to share the swatches of these combinations.
MAC Cosmetics is one of my favorite makeup brands, and one I worked at for a little over a year when I became a makeup artist – and every single product is one I swear by.
Whether you’re looking for mauve lip combos or something more neutral with the MAC Soar lip liner, you’ll find them here.
10 Gorgeous MAC Soar Lip Liner & Lipstick Combos (Swatches)
From the beautiful Blankety lipstick to Mehr and Velvet Teddy to Sweet Deal, one of the most underrated mauve MAC lipstick shades, I’ve dusted off my favorite lipsticks to wear with Soar.
I love this lip liner so much that I’ve also actually already written about many possible Soar lip liner dupes, and lately found more drugstore options as I was shopping for new makeup.
Yet, even if you can indeed find lots of drugstore dupes for MAC Soar, there’s something this lip liner has that others don’t, and it’s that perfectly toned mix of brown, purple and pink in the shade.
Now, since many people are not sure what lipsticks to wear in combination with Soar, I’ve decided to show you many different lip combos you can create with it.
At the end of this post, I’ve also swatched the lip combos so you can see exactly how it would look like, and can choose your favorites more easily!
First up, a little more about the Soar lip liner: it’s basically the only truly mauve lip liner you’ll find at MAC.
Other brands like Barry M, Kiko Milano, NYX or Charlotte Tilbury offer different mauve lip liner shades, but you have only one at MAC.
Even if mauve is one of the most worn shades.
It’s true, though, that Soar suits many, many different lipsticks.
Pink, Mauve and Nude MAC Lipsticks: Blankety, Modesty, Cosmo, Sweet Deal, Fast Play
I’ve split this guide into two parts of 5 lipsticks each because I simply didn’t have enough space on my arm to create all the lip combos at once, those you’ll see further down this guide.
First up, we have the following:
- MAC Blankety
- MAC Modesty
- MAC Cosmo
- MAC Sweet Deal
- MAC Fast Play
The Blankety lipstick is one of the lightest MAC lipstick shades you’ll find, very creamy, very pigmented and perfect to wear with all kinds of mauve, pink and purple lip liners.
The Modesty lipstick is a very light mauve lipstick, creamier and more translucent than Blankety, and perfect whether you have fair olive skin (like me, I’m an NW15 in MAC foundation), pale skin or medium/dark skin for ombre lips.
The Cosmo lipstick is often compared to Modesty, but it’s actually brighter, darker, and warmer-toned. Another great MAC lipstick for fair skin.

Sweet Deal is one of my personal favorite matte lipsticks at MAC; warmer-toned than the Mehr lipstick, it suits in my opinion more skin tones, and still remains a kind of mauve lipstick.
Fast Play is a top pick if you’re looking for a lipstick for Indian skin, and is another type of mauve, creamy, hydrating and astonishing for fall and winter too.

Pink, Mauve and Nude MAC Lipsticks: Faux, Brave, Mehr, Twig, Velvet Teddy
Then, we have the following nude, rather pink MAC lipsticks:
- MAC Faux
- MAC Brave
- MAC Mehr
- MAC Twig
- MAC Velvet Teddy
I’ve chosen to group these five together as they’re some of the most popular MAC lipsticks, therefore really wanted to show you the difference in color and undertone.
The Faux lipstick is one of the lightest MAC lipsticks and a kind of neutral to cool-toned mauve that looks amazing on pale and fair skin. It’s from the Satin lipstick range, which means the pigmentation and wear time are both great.
Also from the satin range, you have Brave, darker, pinker, and brighter than the Faux lipstick. Better suited to fair to medium skin tones, and beautiful on olive and Indian skin.
Then, the Mehr lipstick, a cool-toned mauve lipstick, a perfect MLBB shade, and one of the lipsticks that pairs best with Soar.

The Twig lipstick has been a favorite of mine for ages.
The blend of brown and pink and the saturated enough color makes it a perfect MAC lipstick for medium skin. It goes well with brownish mauve eyeshadow and looks, in a nutshell, simply gorgeous.
Lastly, we have the Velvet Teddy lipstick, which is a beige, pink and brown lipstick and one of the bestselling MAC lipsticks to this day.
The finish is matte, the color is gorgeous on blondes and redheads as well, and it’s overall a must-have shade.

Soar Lip Liner and Pink, Mauve and Nude MAC Lipstick Swatches
I thought that we’d start with all the pink and nude lipsticks swatched, so you would see the difference between all these lipsticks – keep scrolling and you’ll see the swatches with the name of each lipstick next to it.
As we can see, the Soar lip liner is a versatile shade, and dark enough that it can pair with mauve, pink and brown lipsticks easily.
Now, we’re getting in the thick of it with each lipstick swatched with Soar, and further down, you can also see them five by five to compare the colors.

MAC Soar Lip Liner and MAC Faux Lipstick Swatches
With the Soar lip liner, the Faux lipstick becomes a tad darker, wearable on the daily and also a perfect bridal lipstick combo.
On the eyes, you can go for a black eyeliner wing or some soft pink eyeshadow, or even add clear lipgloss on top.

MAC Soar Lip Liner and MAC Brave Lipstick Swatches
The Brave lipstick with Soar gives a brighter, pinker finish than Faux, beautiful on almost every skin tone.
On the eyes, I would go for a neutral brown eyeshadow look, or something a bit more mauve.

MAC Soar Lip Liner and MAC Mehr Lipstick Swatches
One of the most popular MAC lipstick combos now, with Soar and Mehr being all the rage for a few years now.
The mauve undertone of these two MAC products pairs amazingly well, and since Mehr is matte, you also have something a tad more discreet than you would with Brave.

MAC Soar Lip Liner and MAC Twig Lipstick Swatches
The Twig lipstick plays a bit more on the warm undertone of the Soar lip liner, and you have here another one of the most famous MAC lip combos.
On the eyes, some kind of burgundy red eyeshadow would work well, or again, a crisp line of black eyeliner.

MAC Soar Lip Liner and MAC Velvet Teddy Lipstick Swatches
The Soar lip liner with Velvet Teddy makes for a very nude lip look, and one of my favorites out of this whole guide.
With Velvet Teddy, Soar becomes more brown, which means that Asian skin and skin with warm undertones in general can wear this lip combo easily.
On the eyes, you can go a bit crazier, with some metallic green eyeshadow, or even some dark, burnt orange eyeshadow if you don’t want to contrast the lips too much.

MAC Soar Lip Liner and Lipstick Combos With Faux, Brave, Mehr, Twig, Velvet Teddy Swatches
For nude lip combos, use:
- Soar and Faux
- Soar and Velvet Teddy
- Soar and Twig on darker skin tones
For a more pink lip combo, use:
- Soar and Brave, especially on fair skin
- Soar and Mehr, from fair skin to medium/tan skin
MAC Soar Lip Liner and MAC Blankety Lipstick Swatches
Now, if you’re looking to create a true ombre lip, you’re going to want to use Soar with the Blankety lipstick.
Blankety is one of the most magical MAC lipstick shades, as it does have a pink undertone but pairs well with roughly any MAC lip liner you want.
Combine it with Soar, Plum, Whirl or any other lip liner from the brand and you’ll have an amazing combo.
Very easy to wear on a daily basis, and you can make it neutral enough that you can go big on the eyes with some bright blue eyeliner or a purple eyeshadow look.

MAC Soar Lip Liner and MAC Modesty Lipstick Swatches
Compared to Blankety, the Modesty lipstick is easier to use on its own; on fair to medium skin, you don’t really need to use a lip liner from fear the lipstick will look too light.
However, since Modesty is part of one of the most hydrating lipstick ranges from MAC, let me tell you, you’ll want to wear a lip liner around/underneath.
Another really pretty and nude lip combo here, which can be enhanced by some mauve eyeshadow or just a well-blended brown look.

MAC Soar Lip Liner and MAC Cosmo Lipstick Swatches
The Cosmo lipstick with the Soar lip liner give something warmer and pinker than the Modesty lip combo, and really pretty whether you have medium skin, fair skin, Indian or olive skin.
You have here another creamy texture, since Cosmo is part of the Amplified lipstick range, which offers great pigmentation and a moisturizing formula.
Cosmo is one of the most popular MAC lipsticks, and with this lip combo, I would honestly just wear a dash of black mascara – my current favorite, quite obviously, is the MAC MACStack mascara, which is one of the best I’ve ever tried, ever.

MAC Soar Lip Liner and MAC Sweet Deal Lipstick Swatches
I told you about a good couple of possible lip liners to wear with MAC Sweet Deal, Velvet Teddy and Yash a while back and ever since I’ve had Sweet Deal, it’s one of the only shades I’ve worn.
Compared to the Mehr lipstick, this one is warmer-toned, which means that it’s going to be easier to wear on the daily, but still as longlasting since it’s matte.
This one allows you to go easy on the eyes, but what I love doing when I have a completely matte lip is going metallic.
That’s where I’d use one of the MAC Extra Dimension blushes as eyeshadow, especially the brown and mauve blushes.

MAC Soar Lip Liner and MAC Fast Play Lipstick Swatches
Lastly, you have the oh-so-gorgeous Fast Play lipstick, which is part of the Amplified range, like Cosmo.
Here, you have a beautiful mauve lipstick, so whether you have fair skin with cool undertones or medium skin, you’ll be able to wear it pretty effortlessly.
It kind of gives off the same vibe as the Twig lipstick, too, only darker and a bit more purple than Twig.
If you’d like to contrast the lips, you can go for some matte coral eyeshadow, or a bold navy blue eyeshadow look.
